You can access several of these databases from home with nothing more than your library. Details are provided below. This comprehensive database provides access to over 300 books on subjects ranging from science to business, from philosophy to history. Browse an individual book or search the entire collection for the information you need. In addition to English, the entire collection can be translated into anyone of the following languages: English, Spanish, French or Portuguese.

History Reference Center

This database includes the full text content of over 750 historical encyclopedias and history books. In addition, this history database provides access to nearly 60 leading history periodicals, 43,000 biographies and 58,000k historical documents.

ILLINET libraries include libraries that are associated with an Illinois regional library system and are eligible to use ILLINET Online to request library materials directly from 45 Illinois libraries that are members of ILCSO. About ILCSO

The Illinois Library Computer Systems Organization (ILCSO) is a consortium of sixty-five Illinois libraries that share an online union catalog, ILLINET Online. The mission of ILCSO is to enhance and expand access to and effectively utilize information resources through collaborative partnerships among ILCSO members and with the Illinois library community. ILCSO membership includes the libraries of each state-supported university, thirty-six private colleges and universities, thirteen community colleges, the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, the Newberry Library, and the Illinois State Library.

The NewsBank terminals include four collections that allow for optimum searching with ease. These four collections are: NewsBank NewsFile Collection, Noticias en Espanol, The Chicago Tribune, and News Illinois. Also included are news articles from more than 500 U.S regional and national newspapers.

  • NewsBank NewsFile Collection - (1991-Current) This collection provides news articles covering social, economic, environmental, government, sports, the arts, people, health, and science issues and events from more than 500 U.S regional and national newspapers, wire services, and broadcasts.
  • Noticias en Espanol - A collection that provides news articles covering social, economic, environmental, governmental, sports, health, science, cultural, and business issues and events in the United States, Latin America, and the world from international news services and U.S Spanish-language newspapers. The entire product is in Spanish.
  • The Chicago Tribune - (1985-Current) This collection is a complete full-text content of local and regional news, including community events, schools, politics, government policies, cultural activities, local companies, state industries, and people in the community. Paid advertisements are excluded.

In addition our on line customer base ranges from individuals to Banks, Mortgage Companies, Insurance Companies, Title Companies, Public Libraries, Attorneys, Real Estate Firms, Retailers, Churches plus many more.

In addition to retail customers we also launched a web site for public libraries. It's a scaled down version of what we offer to our retail folks but it provides a useful function for people who are interested in certain types of key public record data.

Our newest addition is our web site specifically designed for Public officials in Northern Illinois. This new web site is to allow elected officials, school districts, political action groups and may others the ability to target specific areas by the State Representative District, State Senate District and the Congressional District. In a addition political districts you can also target by census tract as well.
