
Berwyn Public Library
For a trial period of one year, there will be a charge of $1.00 for each fiction video and DVD checked out from the Berwyn Public Library.
Patrons must possess a valid library card to checkout videos and DVD's from the library.
Berwyn adult patrons may checkout 6 videos or DVD's per library card and Berwyn juvenile patrons may checkout 6 juvenile or nonfiction videos or 6 juvenile or nonfiction DVD's per library card. Nonresident patrons must follow the limits set by their library, not to exceed 6 total videos. Only 2 library cards may be used.
The loan period for fiction (adult and juvenile) items is 7 days, and these items may not be reserved or renewed. The loan period for nonfiction (adult and juvenile) items is 1 week and these items may be reserved and renewed.
A fine of $2.00 per day per item will be charged for any video or DVD not returned by closing on the due date. Videos and DVD's may not be returned in ANY book return , either inside or outside the building; these items will be charged a fine of $2.00 per item. Should damage occur as a result of being returned in the book return, the patron will be charged the current market price of the item, plus any additional fines and/or fees. The maximum fine is $10.00 per item.
Videos and DVD's must be returned to the Berwyn Public Library. If videos or DVD's are returned to any other library, they will be charged a fine of $2.00 per item.
A fine of $1.00 will be charged for each video returned not rewound.
There will be 1 renewal allowed on nonfiction items only. Fiction and Juvenile items may not be renewed. Phone renewals of nonfiction items is allowed only if the item(s) are not overdue. Overdue items may only be renewed in person, after applicable fines are paid.
Patrons will be held responsible for any damage(s) caused to videos or DVD's while in their possession. Any removal of a security sensor will result in a fine of $2.00, and any removal of a barcode will result in a fine of $5.00. Any tampering with an item will be just cause to have a patron's privileges revoked.
The Berwyn Public Library is not responsible for any damage(s) caused to patron and/or patron equipment due to use or misuse of Berwyn Public Library videos or DVD's.
There will be no exceptions made to these rules. The Berwyn Public Library reserves the right to revoke the privileges of any patron fir any abuse of these rules.
